If you have ever seen people who grow their nails for years and years, they naturally grow downward and sometimes in a pig tail swirly style. It's kinda cool. You are lucky to have strong nails. Mine have always been thin and brittle.

i am not sure what causes this but my birth moms nails do the same thing. as soon as they get kinda long at all the start growing down. if your nails are really long and growing down then i would suggest you keep them shorter than they are now. also you might want to ask your doctor cause it could possibly be a fungus or lack or some kind of nutrient.

No that is not a hangnail that is the way nails naturally grow. A hang nail is when you chew your nails, or break one off, and the part that comes off goes down the side of your nail and really hurts.
